So Who, or what, Is BlogWhiz?
“A business blog is the best direct marketing innovation to ever materialize in the hands of management.” — Chris Kane, 10/2006
BlogWhiz is an exciting new part of Jordan Creek Web Design operations based in Des Moines, Iowa and serving business bloggers across the United States.
Founded by Chris Kane, BlogWhiz is an alter ego for a web design entrepreneur and enthusiastic blogger. As anyone who knows him will attest, Chris loved to talk politics. Perhaps that’s why he knows so few people in the world. But, blogging saved him (actually us from him).
Late in 2003, Chris started “Ayuhwa.org” a news and commentary blog monitoring the 2004 presidential campaign. The blog was apparently well received by an amazed public and within a few months had a Google page rank of 5/10. Not bad for an old guy.
Regardless, if you’re a corporate person, you should know one thing: political blogs are bad for business. Proud as you might be at the crowds of bug-eyed partisans from all extremes congregating around your online muckraking dissertations, these folks are already differently convinced. And, while you’re deep into minding the news media’s business, nobody is watching your own store.
When the “age of enlightenment” finally dawned for ole Chris, he tore down Ayuhwa.org (pronounced “Iowa” by the way). It’s all good. His blood pressure is reportedly WAY down and he no longer foams at the mouth. Chris has learned to speak sports and his circle of friends is steadily expanding.
He is strictly business now too. By 2005, Kane’s other enterprise, Jordan Creek Web Design was integrating blogs inside new websites for professionals in law and the corporate world. In fact, he first installed blog software to support a real need for inexpensive “content management systems” (CMS) allowing small businesses to update their own web content directly from office workstations. Blog platforms like SixApart’s MovableType permitted non-technical staffers to update web pages without the need for special software or steep learning curves.
Recently inspired by reading “Naked Conversations ,” and realizing what business blogging can mean for product and service marketing, public relations and business development in general, Chris Kane launched BlogWhiz. Catering especially to small-to-medium-sized businesses, professional offices and community organizations, BlogWhiz can help companies talk with customers and clients, instead of at them.
Most business owners and professionals have an entrepreneurial spirit motivated by a natural inclination to communicate their vision to the public. This is a group that loves direct marketing. As Chris says, “A business blog is the best direct marketing innovation to ever materialize in the hands of management.” A lot of very smart people agree with him too.
BlogWhiz is designed to deliver the tools you need to change the way you talk with your customers.
